2019 Show-Me Rally

The American Rally Association 2019 Show-Me Rally was none other than a success for us! Finally... After 3 disappointing rallies due to offs, poor weather conditions, and freak mechanical mishaps, we were able to put it all together and finish well.

It has been several months since our last rally so we had a bit of rust to shake off in the super special. The car ran very well all day. We had a few rally computer issues during stages 2 and 3 that caused us to run the stages even more blind than we normally would be with tulips. A few ugly spectator points were a small price to pay (ignore those Youtube videos as they begin to surface).

Service was uneventful, thankfully. A routine check of the fluids and underside showed no signs of issues. We could relax and snack which is always appreciated.

The 4 stages after service were both fast and technical. This was a huge challenge on top of the lingering dust that blinded the competitors. We were in 2nd gear on a straight at one point because we couldn't see a thing. The dust proved to be dangerous. At least 4 cars had offs during the afternoon loop. We were able to keep it consistent and put it good times, improving by roughly 20sec every time we repeated a stage. We had a few big contacts with large rocks out in the racing line. Luckily, there was no damage to the car or tires! The transmission did begin to grind when going into 4th, which required rev matching to get into gear but we pressed on and wound out 3rd to the rev limit when necessary before resorting to 4th.

We had a feeling that we did well... Sometimes you just know it. Our times and consistency earned us a 1st in class and 2nd overall finish! It's a great feeling to do well at a home rally in front of sponsors, friends, and fans. We have a little bit of work to do on the car but nothing we shouldn't be able to get done before the Missouri Ozark Rally! Thanks again to all of our sponsors! We wouldn't be where we are without you:

Thanks to all of the organizers and volunteers for dedication their time to this event. It is greatly appreciated. And special thanks to Misha Avrushenko for letting us use his truck.
